• installation of the roofing material involves the use of special nails with a polypropylene or PVC head;
• nails must be driven in deep into the wave at the end of the sheet, as well as on each side at the overlap.

Depending on the roof structure, it is necessary to adhere to certain parameters. At an angle of inclination from 5 to 10 degrees, the final overlap is 300 mm. An angle in the range of 10-15 degrees during roof installation requires an overlap of 450 mm, more than 15 degrees - 600 mm.

Tips for proper installation of slate

Roofing work with this material must be carried out in strict accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Before laying the slate, you should carefully study the instructions and select the appropriate tool. In addition, it is important to take into account the advice of specialists, thanks to which it is possible to avoid violating the technology:

• roofing sheets are fastened with nails on both sides and in the middle of the sheet through the wave;
• the ridge element is fixed on the slope opposite to the wind direction to the sheathing bar;
• before installing the valley, a layer of sealing material is laid;
• an apron made of ondulin is used at the junction of the roof and the vertical wall with subsequent sealing of the seams;
• complete waterproofing is achieved using a universal cornice box;
• as fasteners, it is advisable to use fasteners from the manufacturer producing the material used;
• when making rafters and slats from metal, it is necessary to use self-tapping screws, the holes for which are cut with a drill;

During the work, avoid walking on the laid material - as its surface can be damaged by pressure.
During installation work, it is often necessary to cut sheets. In such cases, it is recommended to use a hacksaw. To avoid jamming of the cutting blade in the material, it can be treated with a thin layer of machine oil. An even and precise cut is achieved using a jigsaw or circular saw.
